Education, 2015, student work, parametric and algorithmic design, catenaries, form-finding

In collaboration with the students of architecture of the University of Philippines Diliman, the "rattan catenary pavilion" was developed in the workshop entitled "Hybrids" taught by ggarchitects. The intervention takes place on the bridge that connects two campus buildings. The components are parametrically designed and served as an example of application of the parametric design tools in the architecture.
The proposal of the pavilion was generated by several teams of 6 people, who subsequently regrouped into a single 30-person team. Through the digital form-finding method and handmade manufacturing processes, we can design and produce the intervention in 2 weeks.
